Imagine the Olympic downhill race. You ski to your position up to four hours before the race. You wait in numbing cold. You have less than two feet of the entire two mile course in focus. The skiers pass you without warning at 85 miles per hour. You have less than 1/1000 of a second to press the shutter and immortalize the moment for the entire world to see...Allsport photographers are the world's best at capturing the sheer intensity and immediacy of sports moments. They are seen at all major national and international sporting events, and their photographs appear in magazines and newspapers worldwide. Visions in Allsportpresents their finest work from the last five years, featuring the top names in sports photography, including Mike Powell, Clive Brunskill, and David Cannon. The stories behind the pictures are told by such renowned athletes and sports writers as champion golpher Nick Faldo, boxer Prince Naseem Hamed, hockey star Martin Brodeur, and Sports Illustrated's Steve Fine, along with extraordinary details of what it takes to shoot world-class athletes in action.
